Draft Policy Statement

1. Woolworths and Coles will each be reduced to below 22% of market share.  (This will apply to all supermarket chains).

2. We will level the playing field, ensuring that our producers of real wealth will no longer be handicapped.  Tourism, agriculture, manufacturing, mining – will all get a fair go.

i. The Australian Dollar will be devalued by reducing interest rates.  Interest rates will be competitive.  Brought down in line with the rest of the world from the Reserve Bank’s current 5% to between 1% and 2%.*

ii.There will be a 10% custom duty charged on all goods coming into Australia.

iii. There will be a full restoration of the right for employees and farmers to collectively bargain to secure an arbitrated price for wages, goods and services.

iv. All food product from overseas will be individually labelled with a warning:  “Warning:  this product is imported, it may not be grown or produced under Australian health and hygiene standards.  It may be hazardous to your health”1.

v. Manufacturing will be restored.

a. Every motor vehicle purchased under a government contract (arguably over20% of Australia’s motor vehicles) will be Australian made.

b. A serious naval patrol boat capability, including helicopters for over the horizon surveillance, will be built in Australia (and commissioned over a period of 8 years).

This will provide Australia with protection from people smugglers, illegal fishing, discharge onto our reefs this will prevent people smugglers from entering territorial waters (saving $1.5 billion a year currently spent on detention and entry).

More importantly, it will be a serious and effective deterrent to any threat to our security.  (It must be emphasised that these assets are defensive,” not offensive” weaponry).

c. All clothing and shoes for police, army government instrumentalities and prisons will be Australian made.

d. A bounty will be paid on the manufacture each year of a minimum 2,000 standard electric motors.  (Effectively no electric motor manufacturing takes place in Australia.  This is the most elementary form of mechanisms.  It consumes one-third of all electricity output in Australia).

3. The people’s assets will not be sold off – the Qld electricity industry (our power stations), the Qld Rail network (tracks), the Qld Ports, ……  all will not be sold.

Where government guaranteed safe investment exists, strategically important assets, once government owned, will be repurchased using superannuation funds.

4. We commit to repeal the carbon tax.  There will be compulsory inclusion of ethanol in all motor vehicle fuels.

This will reduce:-harmful emissions and CO2 by about 15%, simultaneously reducing electricity emissions similarly by about 10%.

Ultimately delivering much cheaper petrol and electricity.

It will reduce our dependence on foreign oil supplies.

Most importantly, this measure will save lives by decreasing toxic motor vehicle emissions.

It will also help to restore self-sufficiency in fuel and food2

An Ethanol industry will create more than 50,000 extra jobs in regional Australia.

5. There will be no further restrictions on public access to the land and waters of Australia.  Australia belongs to the people, not the Crown.

There will be no fishing bans declared north of Brisbane (Double Island Point), nor in the Gulf of Carpentaria, nor in Western Australia’s North Western Seas.

All of the current laws restricting recreational pursuits will be reviewed and restrictions reduced.

The ownership of one’s own back yard will be restored and a householder or landholder will be entitled to remove or eliminate, for example, flying foxes.

“No-one” will be allowed to enter your land unless there is a serious and immediate threat to the health, hygiene and well-being of others.

6. “First Australians” will be given the same rights as enjoyed by the rest of the world and every other Australian – the ability to hold a title deed.  25% of Australia is “supposedly” owned by them; but without a deed they own nothing.  They will have the right to a title deed to their home, farm, business and land so that they can say, like every other Australian, “this is my land”.  This will facilitate and enable economic development, impossible without a title deed.

All residential construction and other such public works will be carried out by local indigenous labour and unemployment benefits will subsidise such wages.

First Australian lands and resources are made available for development and recreational rights at the consent of the local First Australians that can demonstrate a continued affiliation to the land over which the declaration applies.

7. Nation Building:-  Manufacturing will be restored as outlined in policy item 2(v).

The construction of weirs, dams and off stream storages will be resumed to enhance water conservation, creating agriculture, industry, more decentralised and, therefore, more civilised living opportunities.  It will create the “10,000 Billabongs” program - real long term sustainable mosaic agriculture and development and the protection of Northern Australia’s river banks, land, ecology, flora and fauna.

It will also provide economic development opportunities for owner operated enterprises.
