Convention speeches

It was an historic occasion at The Australian Party inaugural Convention, attended by more than 300 people from across the country.

Aside from the speeches, highlights included the launch of The Australian Party Anthem written and performed for the first time by country music legend James Blundell.

Alan Jones lent his support via a video message. He was attracted to the Party by its common sense policies, particularly in regards to the unbridled expansion of the flawed Coal Seam Gas industry.

"I don't know about this can do or can't do stuff. To me it's a heap of crap. I'm sick of slogans.

"This is not an election about shallow fakes; this is an election about fair dinkum people. Simple straight forward people who allow common sense to rule what they are about. Not owned by mining companies, not prisoners of mining companies, prisoners of common sense and decency," Mr Jones said.

Adding a bit of extra colour to the weekend was the launch of the campaign bus, since dubbed "The Kat-Mobile".

If you missed the weekend, then you haven't missed out all together. All the day's speeches, including The Australian Party "anthem" can be found at The Australian Party YouTube Channel
