Rob Katter

Member for Mount Isa Electorate (QLD)

Born and bred in North Queensland, Rob worked in the mining industry and as a property valuer before standing for council in 2008.

An avid sportsman, Rob has strong ties with local sporting clubs competing in cricket, triathlon and touch football. He has even ventured into local theatre performing in a popular musical.

Rob’s active involvement in the community has given him a thorough knowledge of what the people of Mount Isa need. He is a member of four community boards and through these has been able to effect positive change for Mount Isa.

Rob has proven himself in local government and will bring a wealth of experience to Katter’s Australian Party team.

Key local issues that Rob will campaign on for in the seat of Mount Isa include:

• Provision of affordable housing and land
• Reviewing zone allowances to reduce fly in fly out workforce and provide jobs for locals
• Stopping the further sale of strategic State assets
• Cost of air travel to and from Mount Isa and remote communities
