Chance to show true colours

Katter's Australian Party (KAP) has today committed to wearing maroon armbands into parliament on Thursday in protest of Adelaide being the preferred venue over Townsville for a State of Origin game.

KAP State Leader and Member for Traeger Robbie Katter says any Member of Parliament who believes Townsville deserves a game more than Adelaide should wear a maroon armband into Parliament.

“I hope people keep an eye on who displays their true colours in Parliament tomorrow,’’ Robbie Katter said.
“Having a game in Adelaide is a strange decision.

“State of Origin in Queensland is bigger than the Commonwealth Games or the Olympics. As community leaders, all MPs need to stand up in support of the passionate fans in the North.
“North Queensland has been the breeding ground for so many great players, there is a huge grass-roots following and we’ll have a brand new stadium in a couple of years.

“The time is right for a game in North Queensland.’’
